Over the coming weeks, months and years your pet will require desexing, vaccinations, regular flea control, worm prevention, annual heart worm prevention and an annual health check-up.  These are all vital to your pet’s long-term health and well-being. The schedules below will help you understand what they need and when.

PUPPY & DOG Vaccinations & Preventative Care

6 to 8 weeks

1st Vaccinations for puppies begin at 6 to 8 weeks.  Known as a C3 injection, this vaccination protects against Parvovirus, Distemper and Hepatitis

10 to 12 weeks

A booster vaccination known as a C5 is required which protects against Parvovirus, Distemper, Hepatitis and Kennel Cough. An annual Heart worm vaccine is also recommended at this time.

14 to 16 weeks

Another C5 booster vaccination is required to complete your puppy’s protection for one year.

Annually

A C5 booster vaccination is required annually with the addition of a Heart worm prevention injection.

Worming – Oral worm treatment administered at:

2 to 12 weeks – every 2 weeks

12 weeks to 6 months – monthly

From 6 months – every 3 months

Flea control – Monthly

We recommend an oral flea treatment as the best, most effective means of keeping your pet flea free.

Heartworm – Annually

We recommend an annual injection as the best, most effective means of keeping your pet safe from deadly heart worm.

Desexing – Between 12 & 26 weeks

Desexing is highly recommended for all pets.

KITTEN & CAT Vaccinations & Preventative Care

6 to 8 weeks

1st Vaccinations for kittens begin at 6 to 8 weeks.  Known as an F3 injection, this vaccination protects against Calicivirus, Herpes, and Panleucopenia

10 to 12 weeks

A booster vaccination of F3 is required

14 to 16 weeks

Another F3 booster vaccination is required to complete your kitten’s protection for one year.

Annually

An F3 booster vaccination is required annually

FIV (Feline AIDS) Vaccination

From 10 weeks – Recommended for any cat or kitten with outdoor access. 

A course of 3 injections, two weeks apart is recommended, followed by an annual booster.

Worming – Oral worm treatment administered at:

2 to 12 weeks  – every 2 weeks

12 weeks to 6 months – monthly

From 6 months – every 3 months

Flea Control – Monthly
